LAKE OF THE TREES BIBLE CAMP SINCE 1969

OUR STORY

LAKE OF THE TREES BIBLE CAMP HISTORY

LOTT Bible Camp had a dramatic start. For three summers camp was held at Succor Lake and was named Fair Haven Bible Camp. This property was not available for long term use; another location had to be found.

In February of 1968 Dave Griffin,Glen Johnson and Richard Enns snowshoed into Lake of the Trees and staked out a parcel of un-surveyed crown land for a summer camp site. Our first application was refused.  In answer to prayer a new Lands Official was appointed shortly afterwards.  We reapplied and this time we were accepted this time with 30 years for $1.

That first summer the only permanent buildings were the campers' pit toilets; everything else was in tents. The following year several cabins were built and the following summer a dining hall and kitchen were erected...Whoa are we ever glad there are real toilets now!!!

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in—

The Divine inspiration and consequent authority of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. By the term Divine inspiration we mean the truthfulness and authority of both the Old and New Testament Scriptures in their entirety as the only written Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts and the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

The doctrine of the Trinity, one God revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect.

The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His miraculous conception, humanity, miracles, His death and burial, His bodily resurrection, ascension, and return.

The personality of the Holy Spirit whose ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.

The creation of man in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature totally depraved and are incapable of pleasing God, and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility become culpable sinners, utterly lost, and only through being born again through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, in whom we have redemption through His blood, can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

The resurrection of the body, the eternal life of the saved, the eternal punishment of the lost. After death all men continue in conscious existence, the believers being "absent from the body but present with the Lord," the lost in everlasting conscious torment.

The personality of Satan as a created being and an adversary of God.

“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.” Colossians 2:8-10

ONE HOPE CANADA

One Hope Canada was founded as the Canadian Sunday School Mission in 1927. Operating today as One Hope Canada, we are a registered Canadian charity, evangelical in scope and doctrine.

We present the Gospel to those having the least opportunity to hear of Christ, especially children and youth, and we disciple believers for living and serving through His Church.

The National office is in Winnipeg, with seven provincial offices across Canada. (Our Atlantic Provincial Office oversees ministry in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.)

Although our main evangelistic and discipling outreach is through Christian camping (with more than 40 locations across the country) we also have 17 local churches, conduct Bible clubs and Vacation Bible schools, carry on Native ministry and do itinerant evangelism.
